Some call him an idiot, and some call him a genius. I am more inclined to believe he is a genius.

Cherise Foster was born in Blackpool in 1995. Throughout childhood, she became fascinated by realistic artwork, especially the works of Rembrandt, Caravaggio, Johannes Vermeer and John Everett Millais. Her fondness for detail only strengthened throughout adulthood. She graduated from The University of Chester in 2017, and is currently working at The London Library in St. James, London. She has won several awards including five from the Society for All Artists, and currently shows her work at Muphoria, located in Soho, London. Cherise’s drawings are approached with an almost obsessive attention to detail, and a clear desire to achieve instant recognition from the viewer. Her works are known for their accuracy and familiarity, which she often contrasts against a stark white background. Whether it be the unsettling torment of Ian Curtis, the cheerful composure of Carl Sagan, or the malignant undertones of her own self-portraits, each of her works encapsulate a mood and an atmosphere within her subjects.
