About The Artwork

My "Fables" are a series of drawings in which women poses with different animals. This one makes me think of "la Maga", the female carachter of "Rayuela", Cortazar's book. The drawing wil be sent rolled in a double tube, very well protected.(it is now framed in a heavy beatiful oak frame, and if you prefered it framed please contact me, the price and the delivery will be increased).

Marta Grassi is an Uruguayan artist living in France. Her work is imbued with the imagery of South America and the magical realism of its literature, populated by imaginary characters. These women, shamans, fairies or witches are strong and powerful and appear to us in an environment just evoked, going towards abstraction. They stare at the spectator and seem to question him. The viewer is free to interpret the intention of this gaze on him.
