An experimental figure study created with charcoal pencil, plaka paint and fixed with shellac (from the back). The drawing was first stretched over stretcher bars before applying the shellac on the back, allowing it to dry, and then applying the black paint. Stretching the paper over the bars before applying the wet media ensured the paper dried as flatly as possible. The piece was then cut from the stretcher and mounted on archival Japanese rice paper (with long aging Artist's Adhesive) to reinforce the papers strength.. Medium: Derwent Charcoal Pencil, Black Plaka and Shellac on Newsprint Paper mounted onto archival Japanese rice paper. Authenticated with artist's (my) Signature on the back in graphite. Comes with a signed 'Certificate of Authenticity'. Comes unframed (In context view pictures are just digital mockups) PACKAGED Rolled : To ensure your art-piece reaches you in optimum condition, it will be packaged for the best protection wrapped in acid-free tissue paper, padding etc., and sent rolled with an inner and outer sturdy tube. Recycled packaging material is used whenever possible.

I have been incredibly lucky to be able to create art as my professional vocation for more than 15 years. Being able to explore and delve into this passion deeply full time, is a gift I am continually grateful for... Style: I tend to lean towards realistic renderings with abstraction coming into play to hopefully create exciting & mentally stimulating pieces.. The human form is one of my favourite subjects at the moment but I am on a continuous journey of creative discovery in style and content.. Inspiration: Being of Anglo-Indian descent and growing up in the urban multi racial & cultural, sunny shores of Malaysia has undoubtedly shaped my worldview and driven me to always try to represent diversity in my work as much as possible. My conceptual pieces are usually developed and inspired by what lurks within the pages of my second love - books, and the inevitable influences of the unique and 'exciting' times we live in.. I see the persistent honing of my artistic skills as integral to creating, and exploring and developing my skills in differing mediums and techniques is one of the many amazing and ever inspiring parts of the process. Distinctions: Featured & interviewed on Hypp TV 'The Art Gallery' in 2013, which features some of the most promising emerging & established artists in Malaysia. If any piece tickles your fancy or if you have any queries(*please don't hesitate to request more detailed pictures and angles of my artwork if you wish), drop me a message and I will get back to you as soon as possible! Choose what speaks to you,... A piece you love will be a companion for life.. If you would like to get to know me a little better, do check out my website or my blogs.
