Original watercolor painting: I live and work in New York City and I like to travel around New York painting realistic watercolor sketches of city scenes. This shows one of the supports of the Manhattan Bridge with the Brooklyn Bridge in the background. Painted at sunset on June 24, 2003.

I live and work in New York City. My vividly painted still life and landscape watercolors are included in a number of private and corporate collections. I use color, lighting and composition to create dramatic watercolor and acrylic paintings that combine both still life and landscape. I am interested in the way that nature takes hold in the city and goes about its business in ways that disregard and seem to ignore the overbuilt human environment around it. My acrylics and later watercolors depict the animal and insect world thriving in this seemingly hostile environment.
