ABOUT THE ARTWORK

When I was a little boy my mom gifted me a Jordan figurine in the late 90's. That toy was favorite possession of mine. I felt instantly connected to it and it evoke something in me that last to this day. It was love for basketball. I'm still in awe of Michaels greatness and find myself being inspired by him. I'm not much into sports but I played basketball for my local team as young teenage boy for a few years. I still hoop from time to time. Sadly, that figurine was lost during moving and If I could bring back one thing from my childhood it would surely be that MJ toy. Some 25 years later I decided to draw a portrait of Michael using black and white charcoal pencils. I spent around 50 hours on this drawing and finished it in April of this year (2024).

Deni Bozic

Deni Bozic

Bosnia And Herzegovina

Deni Bozic is an artist from Bosnia and Herzegovina, specialized in realism. Working with charcoal, he focuses on recreating portraits and human figures. Realism and the act of hyperrealism are two art forms that Bozic finds fascinating. He enjoys focusing on detailed portraits and characters. He often reproduces works of art that he considers inspiring and thus pays tribute to his artistic role models. The elements in his drawings are larger than life-size and thus acquire a surreal effect. This gives the audience a unique point of view which reveals details that you would not otherwise see. Bozic chooses to keep the meaning behind each piece anonymous, as this gives each audience member the opportunity to find their own unique meaning in each piece. His intentions behind this is because he thinks that everyone can find their own personal interpretation for each piece of art, and should never be limited to just one point of view. With each different series, he hopes to cater to a wide range of audiences with his chosen characters.
