This watercolor painting is part of a series that encompasses my thought about being alive on this XXI Century, with it all new gadgets, online games, "online life". In the other hand we continue to experience all colors of nature. We conquered the power of the sea with our surfboards. It's a different way of life than our ancestors had, but every day we live this duality between eternal things and the human achievements (gadgets).

Vera Fonseka is an artist based in Portugal whose paintings have been widely exhibited nationally. She describes her works as conveying the paradoxical existence between the scrupulous intricacy of the details and the brutality of iconography. Fonseka's artistic process is marked by her use of mixed techniques with adhesives, fabrics, acrylics, and oils on canvas. She was born in 1982 in Tallinn (ex URSS, actually Estonia) in an actors-family. In 2003 Vera moved to Portugal where she's been living since then. Inspired by Kandinsky, Frank Stella, Beatriz Milhazes and Alexandra Mir, Vera Fonseka tries to make conceptual contribution in Contemporary Art.
