"Neurotic" Drawing

Nikola was born in 1991 in Aleksinac. He graduated in 2016 on the Academy of Arts, Department of Fine Arts in Novi Sad. That same year he was awarded for the most successful work in the field of painting as an art discipline, and he was a scholarship holder of the republican fund of the Ministry of Education. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . In my previous research and work, I dealt with subjectivity, apropos my inner states, both on a spiritual and psychological, emotional level. Through the appropriate dose of expression I tried to convey the internal states, consciousness and subconscious, in the form of energy, whether it is positive or negative, and to materialize that energy charge from the inside into the abstract whole as visual information. I focused on the painting, but I did research and experimenting in the same direction with drawing, art graphics and sculpture. Relying on the concept of abstract expressionism and action painting, I have experimented a lot with the use of visual elements and the principles of composing in the construction of the painting and its abstract composing. In addition to the traditional media of fine arts, I have succeeded in conducting my research and ideas in the field of new art media, such as installation, performance, photography, video, animation, digital painting. Experiences in working with these media have enabled me to better understand contemporary art practice as well as art in general. I also realized how some particular working principle, or some particular poetics, can function through different media categories.
