Polyptych 2- from the "Pandora's Box" series. Watercolour on paper Signed on the front. In August (2018) I have started a project called 'Pandora's Box' consisting of 31 panels 76 x 56 cm each, Watercolours on Fabriano Artistico heavy weight paper. Double sized 100% cotton paper, heavy 640 grams. Probably my favourite paper at the moment. (Fabriano paper making is documented since the 12th Century in Italy). My vision of Pandora's Box, when it was opened, was a 'Mess of human flesh being released into the world, fighting for the space, position, supremacy...' They were originally painted as 7 poliptych paintings ( from 2 to 9 panel units) . Idea behind this series was that individual panels could be rearranged in different order and grouped into many new paintings. There are thousands of combinations how to group and display them together. This one is a polyptych consisting of 9 panels. Overall size is 2,28m x 1,68m. Schmincke and W&N pigments were used. Paintings can be displayed by simply pinning them on wall, or each panel can be framed individually and put on the wall next to each other, with spacing between them, to form one large painting, as shown on last picture. Panels can be put on sturdy background and box framed to be shown as a one large painting. Also, they can be attached to sturdy (linen or similar ) cloth and displayed as a hanging tapestry.

Born in Croatia in 1958, Tony Belobrajdic is a Sydney based figurative artist. He started exhibiting in the late seventies and had his first solo show in 1983 in Croatia. Tony moved to New York in 1987 where he continued his art practice. He exhibits both in Sydney and Europe regularly. Acrylics, watercolours and oils have been the mediums of choice. Etchings is the latest medium being explored and studied with a great passion. His style could be described as contemporary impressionism, mostly portraits and figures. Tony's artwork demonstrates distinct freedom using spontaneous brushstrokes and vivid colours. He combines layered figuration of human forms put in abstract situations.
