Al Freno is originally from Cambrai and lives in Brussels. Passionate about drawing very early on, he began his higher education at a school of architecture. Even if the lines fascinate him, the effects of shadows and lights captivate him even more. He then reoriented himself very quickly and joined the School of Fine Arts. Once graduated, Al Freno traveled the world and was seduced by the Californian coast and its sublime villas with pure and contemporary lines. Each canvas is a journey to the West Coast and takes us to architect houses or to a beach in Malibu. Between the sky, the swimming pools and the sea: blue, always blue… and light. Regardless of whether the scenes take place during the day or at night, the rooms light up when the sun goes down and reveal magnificent water mirrors. Al Freno's works evoke a certain tranquility and create an opposition to the fantasized agitation of the jet society. Al Freno exhibits throughout the world and notably in Los Angeles, Seoul, London and Paris.
