Tapping into the world of stories… In each story a pearl is hidden. Even if one is found by a true seeker, a story can never run out of its pearls. Isn’t it truly magical? When we open up we let the reality of a story penetrates our being. There, inside, it starts to vibrate and transforms subtle nuances of that we call “I”. The new one emerges, bright and shiny just as a pearl on a delicate ear of a woman. ——— This work was inspired by Japanese classic “A Portrait of Shunkin” written by Junichiro Tanizaki. A story of beautiful and blind music teacher, Shunkin and unusual but profound relationship with her student and her servant Sasuke. They both died October 14th (not in the same year) when I stared reading a story without knowing this detail. Later when I discovered this unusual synchronicity my interest deepened and I started creating a series of works inspired by a story of intriguing lovers…
