This drawing was created from observation of a live model that is pregnant. I was inspired after having a second miscarriage a few days prior to creating the drawing. Figure drawing is the most basic form of art practice for me, I return to drawing as a practice and basis for all of my artwork.

Contact us.Lynne Margaret Brown is a contemporary artist, educator, and integrative and expressive arts therapy practitioner whose work explores the intersections of society, community, and cultural agency. Working across painting, drawing, printmaking, video, text, photography, and site-specific installations, she creates interdisciplinary projects that engage with both contemporary and historical experiments in socio-political aesthetics.
Currently based between New York City, Berlin, and Venice, Lynne began in 2023 facilitating empowerment through expressive arts for both high school teens and refugee teen girls and young women in Berlin. Born and raised in Flushing, Queens, NYC, she brings the energy and diversity of her upbringing into her creative practice.
Her work has been recognized with numerous fellowships, including awards for drawing from the National Gallery of Art and Museum School in New York, a printmaking fellowship in Venice, Italy, and, most recently, a film project grant in Berlin through the Berlin Collective and kulturspace.
Lynne’s drawings, mixed media works, sculpture, film, and video have been exhibited internationally, with shows in New York, Venice, Berlin, and L’Isle-d’Abeau, France. Her practice continues to evolve, blending visual storytelling with social engagement to create work that resonates across cultures and contexts.
