Hi, I am Kathleen Ney, a US, Washington state artist. I enjoy working in a variety of mediums and subject matter. Much of what is posted here are life drawings created in weekly group sessions. Figure drawing demands seeing in both an analytical and empathetic way. From the time of my first art classes to the present, I have found it to be a wonderful practice. In developing series of original art, I am motivated by my desire to explore ideas in a visual way. Composition, texture and color as well as cultural references influence the work. On a daily basis, the beauty of the natural world and the complexity of the human experience provide constant inspiration. My professional work has won awards and been shown nationally and internationally for the past 30 years. Several of my framed artworks have been used by the Warner Brothers and Summit movie studios.
