About The Artwork
Shadow and light are the secret to drawing the human form. This drawing has been inspired by the works of classical art, in particular the "haman" from the sistine chapel. The anatomically accurate representation yes derives from knowledge, but the light plays a major role in revealing the form as it can be seen from the picture. Sanguine on toned paper has been used, like the old masters, a great medium since it produces fantastic mid-tones and shadows.
