This drawing is part of a series of 10 drawings that were created based on the observation of plants found on the terrace of the authors great-grandparents' house. The house is over 100 years old and is located on an environmental protected area next to Serra da Estrela. Around the house there are many trees, mountains, plants and animals. The choice to draw only the beings on this terrace, the various plants and mosses, lies in an intimate search for relationships. Relationships with the beings that live there, but also relationships with the ancestors who inhabit once this space through the real life that continues. These drawings are registers of direct observation of the plants and mosses made with black ink, which several months (or years) later the artist reinterprets with coloured inks. All these drawings are made on learning sheets, from primary school of her daughter. Using these learning sheets, paper is reused, contributing to a better world. But these papers also show how these drawings are understood by the author as true learning process. Each drawing on a learning sheet measures 30x41cm and is mounted on a paper that is painted with ink and acrylic plaster measuring 40x50cm (included). All the drawings in this series were part of an exhibition by atelier GAAS (see events in the author's biography), in November 2022, at the Municipal Gallery of the Pavilhão da Torre da Marinha, in Seixal, Portugal. The price does not include the wooden frame or the white passe-partout that can be seen in the image of the work on the wall. This image serves only as a suggestion of how this work can be framed.

I am an architect and artist, living in Lisbon, Portugal. I have a master in drawing, by the Faculty of Belas Artes, Lisbon Portugal. And a PhD in Architecture, investigating space by drawing. My artistic work registers, in some way, the impermanency: the light and shadow, the vulnerability and transitivity of life. Some of my work is based on reality (e.g. a stone, a plant, a space, the sea), nevertheless, I understand that reality can be regarded in many ways, depending on what you propose yourself to look at, or, what are you able to see.
