The Old Man and the Doves. Drawing

The artwork was done in mixed media, combining monotype and original graphics. Primarily, for printing a monotype, the author used such materials as gouache paints with a small inclusion of mother-of-pearl, then as additional materials, the author completed the work with charcoal and pastel. Inspired by a moment seen in real life by chance, the author reveals from the monotype print a specific plot from a legend, with a deeply rooted historical description. As a result, viewers can observe the lofty image of a monk surrounded by soaring doves, covered with legends. Managing the shades of light and dark, the artist considered her main task to convey the world of sensations and feelings, to give viewers the freedom of imagination, to see the invisible, to show their own fantasy. Using the technique of monotype, the author applies the method - synesthesia. Immersed in her own synesthetic sensations, she conveys feelings and emotions of a wider spectrum, overcoming the boundaries between conscious and unconscious, embodying a creative idea.
