About The Artwork

The Silent Scream "Sometimes silent screams are the most desperate to be heard"- anonymous. We are forced to supress a lot of our emotions and feelings either because society thinks it inappropriate to express them or because we cannot let anyone know the dark secrets of the heart. How many of us hide our heartbreak with a smile and an "im fine"? How many of us scream silently late at night behind locked doors or into pillows and closed bathrooms with the water running. The artist tries to portray through her artwork one such emotion - the Silent Scream. The work shows a woman in pain and anguish, screaming silently, hurting herself on the thorns of the rose she clutches tightly, hoping the self infliction will diminish her inner grief and suffering a little bit. She keeps silent even as she is screaming inside because the things that drives her crazy she has no choice but to hide. The artist wants people who have gone through this agony to know that its ok to feel such feelings and they are not alone. She wants people to understand that art isnt just wall decor but also a perfcect medium to express unspoken and hushed up subjects that make people feel and empathize. Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about. Be kind.
