A portrait of my son. He posted a photo of himself on facebook as a prank and I just couldn't resist the temptation. I obviously had to change the background to create the surrealistically realistic atmosphere.

Colored pencil is my favorite tool. Allows me to create live-like drawings. I've always been drawn to realistic fine art the most. Draw what you see the best you can. What I discovered about myself is that everything I do has romantic element, moment, object, expression, something that makes my art work more alive than it would be without it. The drawing with the snake is a perfect example. Had it not been for the mask, snake itself would only create a night snapshot of a cold blooded reptile, yet the mask creates a mystically romantic atmosphere as if the snake is guarding the mask. I decided to add the mask not knowing why. Today I understand it's just the way I feel the drawings. The mask gives the snake a purpose and a romantic story to the whole set. My overall goal is not only to make my drawings as real as possible, but also to give them life, emotion or purpose. I was never much fan of still life, because still life to me was always only about technique, choice of colors and tools. I need to feel my work through an expression of a face, atmosphere of the composition or purpose of the subject. Currently I'm trying to build a portfolio, irresistible to any gallery. Until then I'm open to any exposure I can get. I was born in 1969 in small town of Sumperk, Czech Republic. I was told that I was born with pencils in my hands. Drew better than I talked, drew better than I walked. But as most other kids I met other loves in my childhood. Sports. That drew me away from doing what I was born for. Had good success in teenage. Won few school art competitions. After school, life happened. Got a job in Casino business, started paying bills, dating, moving from place to place, different countries, crazy shifts etc. That put my talent for art to sleep for a very long time. But hey, it never got lost. Now I'm back with vengeance. So stick with me. follow my work, check my sites from time to time and enjoy my way back to the world of art. .cfm?ArtID=78405
