About The Artwork

This is a 30x40 cm original drawing made with coloured pencils on paper. The drawing is unframed. I always deliver my artwork signed at the front with the year made. I made this drawing when I was living in London. This is a Council Estate Building in the area of Hammersmith. It was on a spring day when yellow flowers grew freely in the garden and the sky was blue and at the same time covered with dense clouds. Spring in London is so beautiful. After the darkness and grey of the winter, the city becomes bright and has plenty of life.

"Hi, I'm Alejandro Pascual. Thank you for visiting. I draw scenes from my everyday life, looking for beauty in the small things." Alejandro Pascual is an artist from Barcelona who, after living for more than twelve years in the UK, has recently moved to Copenhagen. Alejandro completed a Master of Art Production and Research at the University of Barcelona in 2011. Drawing has been a fundamental part of his work, creating a particularly recognisable style. His drawings tend to distort and exaggerate scenes from his everyday life. He works with coloured pencils on paper, combining energetic and delicate lines with vibrant colours. Alejandro draws things in front of him constantly, like ordinary objects taking something simple and making it into something else, something more. The challenge is how to use that reality without just making an illustration of it. His creative process is very dynamic, always having many drawings in progress. Also, he enjoys drawing the human figure and making sketches of his friends. He has participated in several Group Shows in London, Berlin and Barcelona. He has also been selected for different Art prizes and competitions like the Barcelona Ynglada-Guillot Drawing Prize (2007), The London VIA Art Prize (2020), The London Trinity Buoy Drawing Prize 2021and 2023 the Berlin Fresh Legs (2022) organised by the Gallery Heike Arndt and The Biscuit Factory in Newcastle. https://www.alexpascual.uk/ Featured ar Creative Boom Magazine: https://www.creativeboom.com/inspiration/alex-pascual/
