About The Artwork
Akiko is inspired by Utamaro's Japanese wood block prints of Geishas and the TV series "Shogun". I love Geisha and created this Madame Butterfly series to bring the Geishas to a modern contemporary time wherein she opens her kimono to reveal her breasts.
