This artwork belongs to a series composed of 17 paintings devoted to dance and entitled "Dancer in the Dark" The "Ring" referred to in the title is the one on which the ballerina moves, like a boxing ring, because in many ways dance is a fight against the wear and tear of the body and against pain. But in English, "ring" also means circle, and it is in this sense that we can understand this paintography, with a dancer folded on herself as if inside a circle of protection and prostration, in an attitude of rest, suffering, solitude and reflection mixed together. This artwork is made in mixed technique on canvas and combines photography, digital art and acrylic painting (glossy lacquered glaze and relief squares); It is a unique piece and it comes with by a certificate of authenticity. The paintography is framed in black (dimensions: approximately 99 x 99 x 3.5 cm)

« In the age of digital technologies, I couldn't just be a painter or a photographer. My 'paintographies' bring down borders between techniques and offer a resolutely contemporary hybrid art. » I was born in 1975 in a small town in the French countryside and arrived in Paris in 1992 for my studies (History, English and literature). I have been a professional artist since 2007, with over 60 exhibitions across France and Europe. My artistic approach is both simple and complex. Although my work portrays a figurative aesthetic that favors clarity, it does so through a complex blending of photography, digital art, and acrylic painting. The result is a mixed technique I call ‘paintography’. My compositions highlight the fragility of the human body. I transform my model into virtual sculptures by replacing their skin with mineral materials to represent the passage of time.
