About The Artwork

“being a woman is always already there as the ontological precondition for my existential becoming as a subject”- Braidotti The burdened Sex expresses the way in which women live their bodies as objects for another’s gaze, something which has its origin not in anatomy but in “education and surroundings” . The series accounts for the way in which women live their bodies in such an objectified way, internalizing the gaze and producing their bodies as objects for others. The body posture suggest that fatigue from being constantly stereotyped . It is neither destructive nor fragmenting for a woman to see her self as more and as a society we must find more ways to celebrate the many ingredients of her identity.
