Unlike an accessible bookcase, these books are tied up with a cord and a noose, representing the restriction and removal of access to knowledge and content through either politics, culture, social acceptance or religion; or the inability to access knowledge due to its destruction ripped and dishevelled pages and disposal. The lighting represents access granted with warm light; or restriction with dark cold light. The red books represent dangerous and restricted content. I utilised found objects, books and their materials.

As a Sydney-based artist, I'm passionate about exploring contemporary art through figurative, landscape, and abstract forms. I use a mix of mediums, often incorporating recycled materials, to give each piece a unique touch. My recent work focuses on sustainability and environmental themes. One series highlights the beauty and fragility of oceans, and another celebrates interior spaces and the magic of books. Outside the studio, I love teaching drawing workshops across Sydney, sharing my knowledge and nurturing budding artists. Through my art and teaching, I aim to inspire others and foster a deeper connection with the world around us.
