This work of art depicts the attempt to hold back our feelings and not let tears appear on our face. A magazine photo of a glamorous woman has been turned into a black and white photograph and then cropped in order to focus the attention on the woman's expression. White acrylic paint has been lightly applied around her eyes in order to create the impression of smoke that's around her face.
