About The Artwork
What/who inspired the work? This painting was inspired by a simple yet beautiful moment I witnessed in Hong Kong. The sunlight casting shadows of palm tree leaves on the model's body, along with her gentle gaze, moved me to capture it on canvas. What do you hope its viewers will feel/think? I hope viewers are touched by the warmth and beauty of the scene. I want them to feel a sense of connection with the model's vulnerability and strength, and perhaps even find a moment of joy and tranquility in the artwork. Why did you choose the medium, subject matter, style? I chose painting because it allows me to express the depth of emotions and colors in the scene. The subject matter of the model in sunlight with palm tree shadows represents the simple yet profound beauty of everyday life. The style of the painting, with its cheerful colors and focus on the model's expression, aims to convey a sense of humility and appreciation for the beauty found in the ordinary.
