About The Artwork

“Power Games” belongs to the series “The Queen” which deals with the question of power in its different aspects through the figure of a queen. Here, we see a woman, who we guess is the queen, sitting on the ground like a child playing with her toys. Her face is smiling, a mixture of sweetness, innocence and joy. Except that it is with crowns that she plays, that is to say the forms that power can take according to the whim of the one who exercises it... This painting is a unique piece created in mixed media on canvas and combining photography, digital composition and acrylic paint (glaze and relief squares). It is framed in black wood (total dimensions: approximately 107 x 107 x 3.5 cm)

« In the age of digital technologies, I couldn't just be a painter or a photographer. My 'paintographies' bring down borders between techniques and offer a resolutely contemporary hybrid art. » I was born in 1975 in a small town in the French countryside and arrived in Paris in 1992 for my studies (History, English and literature). I have been a professional artist since 2007, with over 60 exhibitions across France and Europe. My artistic approach is both simple and complex. Although my work portrays a figurative aesthetic that favors clarity, it does so through a complex blending of photography, digital art, and acrylic painting. The result is a mixed technique I call ‘paintography’. My compositions highlight the fragility of the human body. I transform my model into virtual sculptures by replacing their skin with mineral materials to represent the passage of time.
