About The Artwork
"L'Attente" ("Waiting" in French) is a paintography where the character represented is very close to classical sculpture, in an imitation of white marble, with the white eyes of a statue and very little damaged mineral material. The finesse of the lines and details (particularly at the level of the hands) is reminiscent of the statuary of Bernini for example: despite the frozen pose which is that of waiting, we feel the tension of the muscles and fingers , which paradoxically makes the character very alive. This work is produced in mixed media on canvas. It combines photography, digital art and acrylic painting (lacquered glaze and relief squares), it is a unique piece and it is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The painting is framed in black wood (dimensions: approximately 82 x 67 x 3.5 cm)

« In the age of digital technologies, I couldn't just be a painter or a photographer. My 'paintographies' bring down borders between techniques and offer a resolutely contemporary hybrid art. » I was born in 1975 in a small town in the French countryside and arrived in Paris in 1992 for my studies (History, English and literature). I have been a professional artist since 2007, with over 60 exhibitions across France and Europe. My artistic approach is both simple and complex. Although my work portrays a figurative aesthetic that favors clarity, it does so through a complex blending of photography, digital art, and acrylic painting. The result is a mixed technique I call ‘paintography’. My compositions highlight the fragility of the human body. I transform my model into virtual sculptures by replacing their skin with mineral materials to represent the passage of time.
