Contact us.Cynthia Pareja Dubin (Lima, Peru, 1986) is a multidisciplinary artist whose work delves into the intricate interplay of identity, memory, and the unfolding subconscious. Inspired by her diverse cultural background and personal experiences, Pareja Dubin creates visually rich compositions that invite viewers to contemplate the profound relationship between art, the human spirit, and the world we inhabit.
Her abstract compositions are distinguished by an assertive palette that conveys emotional depth, dynamic forms and layers of meaning. Within this practice, she unfolds immersive worlds, intricately combining her abstract painting with a parallel vital abstract illustration practice to create distinctive visual narratives, fostering connection and offering an escape from the pressures of daily life.
Pareja Dubin's career as an artist began with a BA in Graphic Design from the Universidad de Palermo in Argentina, where she was awarded 1st prize in editorial design in 2011.
Returning to Peru, she served as a teacher, thesis judge, and marketing designer at the Peruvian Institute of Art and Design. During this period, her fine art practice also gained recognition, with her work being exhibited at the International UN Art Fair.
Cynthia moved to the United States in 2013, where she furthered her studies at the Art Students League of New York, expanding her expertise in abstract painting with Larry Poons and printmaking with Michael Pelletieri.
In 2021, she was awarded the fully funded Liquitex "Just Imagine" residency.
Pareja Dubin has marked significant milestones with her solo exhibitions, including "Intangible Ecosystems" at the Hotel Sofitel in Philadelphia (2023), “Paisaje Interior” at Galeria West Art in Westfield (2024), and "Reappearing Treasures" at the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey (VACNJ) in Summit (2025). Her work has also been featured in numerous group exhibitions across the United States, with a notable presence in New York City and New Jersey.
She is known for her philanthropic efforts, donating her artwork to raise funds for various causes, including women's empowerment, medical research, and veterans' support. Her work was also selected by the global philanthropic organization Move92 to represent Peru, supporting their collaborations with organizations in 13 countries to empower women in developing nations.
