Sherri Scott

About the Artist

Sherri Scott

United States

Sherri Scott is a multi-disciplinary artist with a background in design and experience in the apparel and consumer goods industries. After earning a degree in design, she spent several years working with brands and successfully launched her brand, which was sold to major retail stores. Her international travels to collaborate with artisans around the world enriched her understanding of craftsmanship and design.

A few years ago, Sherri made a pivot to pursue her passion for art. Since then, her creative journey has led her to participate in multiple gallery exhibitions, develop permanent public art installations, design graphics for a music festival, and create a special art project for a new fire station. She feels deeply fortunate to be part of the arts community and is dedicated to giving back, having written grants that support art festivals and serving as a gallery board member.

Currently, Sherri combines her knowledge of textiles with her love of painting, exploring innovative textures and effects by blending these mediums. Her work often incorporates up-cycling techniques, utilizing remnants of fabric in an upholstery-inspired internal construction, which adds both depth and sustainability to her art. Through her evolving practice, she continues to push artistic boundaries and express her passion for creative storytelling.
