About The Artwork

Icons are images that have the power to represent with a few simple traits, an entire chain of data that our brain processes and elaborates when it sees the corresponding icon represented. Icon of the orisha goddess Obbá. Orishas are deities of the Yoruba religion who are believed to have acted as intermediaries between the gods and men. The Yoruba religion has its origins in West Africa. Much of their believers were used as slaves in the Americas, and were forbidden to have a belief of their own, for this reason Africans disguised their gods as saints of the Christian religion. But when freedom came, these ancient forces that had never died, flourished vigorously, not only in communities of African origin, but everywhere in the world. Obba Orisha represents the repressed love and sacrifice for the being one loves. Sufference and sacrifice, she symbolizes marital fidelity. It is related to lakes and lagoons which is where there is water but does not flow. Its name comes from the Yor-bbá'bá (Aba: soup – Oba: King), literally "The one of the king's soup" She is always next to Women who are courageous and misunderstood, with masculine traits and who go through bitter sentimental experiences. She is protective of cooking, food and family despite being a fearsome warrior. Why buying Obbá ? To activate in your psyche, through a psychomagic process, the power of processing sufference. Overcome it and learn from it. Love others and open your heart despite the risk of being stabbed. Taking care of the house, understood not only as a building but as a place where values and loved ones are addressed, even when this task requires many tears. Obbá says: first the others and then me. Because her happiness is put at the service of the happiness of others.
