Contact us.Jelena Gagić was born on January 30, 1977, in Belgrade, Serbia, where she lives and works as an artist and fashion designer. She graduated from the College of Fine and Applied Arts in Belgrade. Since 2017, she has been a member of ULUPUDS, the Association of Applied Arts Artists and Designers of Serbia. Under the pseudonym Comma, she makes abstract geometric art.
Comma for her represents an escape into a hidden realm of vivid colors, playful shapes, and unpredictable movements – in short, a self-contained world of the imagination that she wants to share with her viewers. Each individual piece is born intuitively. The process of beginning something new always fills her with energy and excitement. She thinks of geometry as a game: it gives her an unlimited number of combinations so that she never knows the outcome in advance. When she gives each work a title, she aims to enliven it with a name as every person gets at birth. Her works are her children in the sense that she stays intimately connected to them after they are finished and often comes back to watch them for a long time. They evoke in her a feeling of joy and resonate with good vibrations, which she wishes to spread to all who look at her work.
Her work has been published in "Make Good" limited-edition magazine by Ello and Dribbble featuring 100 artists and designers from 35 countries, 2017
