In my country it is common to run into pasturing flocks and lonely and silent shepherds watching over them. This work of art is inspired by the symbiosis silently formed between the shepherd and his flock. The ensuing artwork is a surreal scene in which man and animal together form an almost "mythological" being. Mixed media on cardboard (acrylic, graphite, monotype, pastels, oil pastels, collage). This series of portraits is inspired by the faces and expressions of men and women from the older generation. The series, named "Pretesti di-visi", a play on words in Italian, developed around my own reality and familiar faces, a pretext to explore the human face in all its divisive beauty. In these portraits I have depicted mostly the face of maturity in familiar surroundings, trying to tell the story of a long-generational journey. The results are a series of dreamlike, surreal, metaphorical scenes.

I am an Italian artist and illustrator. My works depict a world in which reality is represented through metaphorical and psychological images. My interest is focused on issues related to the psyche. I'm interested in feelings, emotions and troubles of the soul. My subjects show a fragile humanity, not out of inner weakness but out of a natural vocation. The use of vibrant colors and bold contrasts, alongside the mélange of various media, enable me to create a complex world where reality coexists with metaphorical elements, the surreal and psychological; a world that can be interpreted in a variety of levels. I work on paper, cardboard and canvas using mixed media: monotype, collage, graphite, acrylic, pastels, grattage. Environmental problems are a topic that I hold dear and all my artistic production develops around the idea of recovering and recycling poor and discarded materials. I find inspiration in paper as a material, and I use discarded magazines, clippings of my drawings or monotypes, old printed papers and envelopes.
