I am a London-based contemporary artist whose practice explores the idea of “weaving worlds”—bridging heritage, craftsmanship, and a contemporary visual language. Rooted in textile traditions passed down through generations of women in my family, my work reflects a deep sensitivity to material, surface, and narrative. Born in Macedonia in 1979, I began my formal training in Textiles at the National Academy of Arts in Sofia. In 2003, I continued my studies in the UK at West Dean College, where I contributed to a large-scale tapestry now permanently displayed at the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. After returning to Macedonia, I exhibited widely and presented a solo exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in Skopje. My practice later expanded into decorative painting and restoration, culminating in my graduation with Golden Medal Honours from the prestigious Van der Kelen School in Brussels in 2012. This experience deepened my engagement with historical techniques, ornament, and architectural surfaces, shaping a contemporary approach grounded in tradition. I have worked internationally on projects in Turkey, Qatar, Israel, and the United Kingdom. Since returning to London in 2019, I have founded Tone & Detail, where I continue to develop work that navigates the space between fine art, decorative practice, and cultural memory.
