Originally this was a series that explored form, shadow, and negative space using the coyote in the dead heat of the void in a mid-afternoon desert. The balance as state of existential beingness rather than a crisis. As the series progressed a woman emerged, bringing in a dialogue between human and psychological shadow, specifically woman and animal. Simone de Beauvoir's "The Second Sex" came into mind as well as Toni Wolff's "Structural Forms of the Feminine Psyche". "the coyote panel" included in the images section of each piece is included.
