I am a contemporary artist and preservation-architect, using in my artistic work a form of experimental monument preservation as an independent art form.
Through my critical architecturally look, I try to question conventional ideas about our cultural heritage and show objects or conditions that are also considered ugly or void which are usually excluded from the preservation of monuments.
The transformation of places, of spaces and objects, increasing decay to gradual disappearance are processes that I document and at the same time offer me inspiration for my artistic work.
In my works I mix the boundaries between photography and painting, between reality and abstraction, using and experimenting in techniques such as Fresco - Sgraffito - Photo transfer - Mixed Media. The base of my art objects are different layers of plaster put on thick and heavy handmade paper or working directly in moist plaster by using digital prints of my photo-series, a modern interpretation of the traditional buon-fresco-technique I learned once in Florence.
