Mental Mechanism gives you a peak into the world of antique mechanics. Breathing life back into old feats of engineering and invention. The series invites us to take a step back and value everything around us a little bit more. The Tap - an early version of the still widely used Tapping Machine. Used to create screw threads, a tap is the female portion of the mating pair, for example a nut, whereas a die is used to cut the male portion - the bolt. A simple but brilliantly effective tool that is still used today, and the bi-product - screws, nuts and bolts - a part of our everyday lives. The artwork is created with a method of mixed media where the contrast of the Archival pigment ink to the hand painted gold is used to enforce the message; the greatness of the machine, and the humility of the humble human hand behind it, of the initial creator, and the contrast and compliment of the two working in unison. Archival pigment ink on art paper, Epson Cold Press Natural 305 g/m with hand finished Gold acrylic detailing. Signed and numbered.

Norwegian artist, Ragnhild Jevne, is as diverse as her universal career has been. Having lived a life of many cities and many stories, her work is a fusion of a distinct Scandinavian style, European Elegance, Urban rebellion and New York Confidence. With an acute attention to detail, bold ideas, smart and efficient design concepts and a genuine passion for typography, little escapes Ragnhild’s critical eye, and her work is distinctly “her own” — creative, playful, innovative and immaculate. A woman of the world, she takes her freelance work on the road with her, and allows her creativity to absorb influence and culture, as she continues to curate entrancing visuals that pack a powerful impact.
