About the piece: This self portrait was inspired by my visits to Palm Springs and being able to find your own paradise and comfort in your surroundings no matter what the state of the world is experiencing or what is happening around you. It is an on the surface representation of - as the world burns we can 'dance' and do what makes us happy. It also however represents the feelings of surreal euphoria and solace found in things around us during moments of stress, disaster, depression or anxiety - like a song that brings us joy or a memory that makes us smile.
