Australia is full of bushfoods (if you know where to look). It can provide all we need.
It’s a funny thing we’re still consuming our British foods here. And struggling too I might add. But before colonization, yams, kangaroo-grass breadmaking and other bushfoods were harvested, gathered up and stored. Bruce Pascoe’s ‘Dark Emu’ delves deeper into this.
What’s great to see though recently is more places championing these bushfoods in their restaurants here.
