About The Artwork

This painting was inspired by our second visit to Los Ángeles. From the hotel room I could see this beautiful urban landscape, so typical of West Hollywood (for me of course, everybody gets to decide in a very subjective way what is typical and what is not). For me typical Los Angeles cannot exclude signs, cars, more signs offering parking, and steep roads... the black and white decision was not premeditated but now taking some distance I can see there is some "old-B&W-movies" influence... after all, this place was one of the great sources of black and white high quality content as we begun our road to a global world... once the entertaining content got more "democratized" the color film era started ... but Hollywood´s golden era one could argue was in the blacks and whites (we still are in a sort of golden era, but just not as monopolized as then...) This work gets its name form the sign depicted offering parking and also in perfect harmony with the ethos of this sleepless mecca...

I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Started my journey in art attending to painting classes since I was 9 and never stopped from then. Although the path has been rocky many times, making art for me is a lighthouse that shines a light over my life and helps me try to understand where I am and where I am going. And if by chance I get to discover any answer or clue by doing my practice, not only it helps myself but it may also those who get in touch with my work and can resonate with its message. Messages that are not premeditated. Just felt in my heart and humbly transmitted. No mental concepts to call for assisted reflections. I think of my work as an opportunity to delve into a groove that transcends my existence. To navigate through it and be at the disposal of the unexpected, of the unknown, of everything that was, is and will be. A furrow of exploration of what surrounds me, of the visible and the invisible. The process, the experience and the uncertainty above the mental concept, above reaching a certain destination. And in the transit of experience, the findings. Findings that many times even transcend my ability to understand. Registered in each brushstroke, in each gesture, in each choice.
