ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This is an action scene of race leader Michael Schumacher, on his way to win the 2001 Monaco Grand Prix in the Ferrari F2001. In the distance behind Shumacher, a ghostly mirage of Mika Hakkinen's McLaren Mercedes can be seen as he is trying to catch up with Schumacher. Having worked as a mechanical engineer and automotive designer, I have always been fascinated by motorsport, both from the technical aspect, as well as the beauty of the cars. This painting was painted with Windsor&Newton's artist oil colours.
