About The Artwork

In this series, I have used the cork sheets as materials of my bachelor's life that were lying under the mattress of my bed and contain my 7-year memories. So I have a kind of relationship with these materials. Those relationships and memories are reflected in the impressions made over the years. I don't think these memories are sweet, rather it can be said that in these 7 years it has endured many burdens and tortures of mine, which have left an equal mark on it. I was moved by such thoughts, which is the reason I used them as materials for my artwork. And the reason for using blue color is- when a person carries poison in his body, his body turns blue. From such kinds of thoughts and the idea of minimalism, I have painted it blue. Moreover, there is also some expression of my emotion in the process of painting.

Tanmoy Mitra is an art practitioner based in Bangladesh. In his artistic practice, he loves to explore all the branches of visual art. Generally, he likes to express his thoughts and emotions in his art practice through a kind of interdisciplinary approach. Also, his postmodern understanding, philosophical understanding, historical understanding, cultural understanding, social understanding, and political understanding are so important to develop his artwork. As a critical thinker, always he criticizes his thoughts and ideas; and breaks his own ideas to create new ideas. He doesn't like to see himself as a slave of the medium. He just does what his concept demands to express his ideas and thoughts. He tries to use all of his knowledge in his art practice. He doesn't want to limit himself to any specific ism or artistic style. Always he tries to use all of his life experiences as his spirit or source of art. So, always he transforms his memories, activities, thoughts, and ideas into his distinctive visual language to create something that would be a new form of art. As a passionate artist, he sees possibilities everywhere. He thinks sometimes our limitations help us to find many new paths or ways. And always he searches for new artistic ways, forms, expressions, and languages to express his thoughts, feelings, and emotions.
