I've been working a lot with mixed media the last few years, smaller works on board - as this is - or heavyweight paper. I'm drawn to minimalist abstract works that are distantly suggestive of landscapes or still life. This is what I tried to do here, creating something reductive and simplified in form and colour and remains steadfastly abstract, but has echoes of the iconography of both still life and landscape painting. I also was after I sense of focused composition while retaining of mood of playful abandon. It's quite hard to achieve this two things in tandem, I'm learning
