Yoti is a contemporary artist whose work explores identity, otherness, and growth through layered, mosaic-like paintings. She works primarily with acrylic and ink on repurposed canvas and paper—breathing new life into discarded art and forgotten stories through her ReLiving initiative. Her creative practice is rooted in sustainability—both in her use of reclaimed materials and in the inspiration she draws from them—and is shaped by her lived experience of cultural migration. Having grown up and pursued both artistic and academic education in Copenhagen, Seattle, New York, Tel Aviv, and Haifa, Yoti creates artworks that are a mosaic of experiences of being foreign and belonging. Alongside her studio practice, she has also held leadership roles in the corporate world, focusing on empowering communities to express themselves and share their stories and goals. She has recently shifted gears—welcoming her son into the world and officially launching ReLiving as a public project, evolving it from a personal practice into a shared narrative. By repurposing artworks that once held deep personal meaning, ReLiving pays homage to the past by giving these paintings a second chance to inspire. It draws from a versatile palette of colors, themes, and forms, embracing both the physical and spiritual dimensions of sustainability—much like the migrant moving from one cultural landscape to another. Yoti previously held a solo exhibition at the Studentergaarden Institute in Copenhagen and is a proud member of The Hug artist community. Her artworks are held in private collections across the United States, Denmark, Spain, and Israel. Her paintings reflect the interconnectedness of fragments of personal and collective identity, emphasizing that fragility can be a source of strength—and that there is much beauty in imperfection.
