About The Artwork
This painting was in process when Robert Ryman passed away. He and I met over ten years ago at the Peter Blum Gallery(Soho NYC) and we kept a correspondence through letters afterwards. I have not only been an admirer of his work throughout my career, but Robert also gave me very significant considerations and questions about a particular body of work that I showed him(specifically, the Tar and Feather Series). Still to this day, it was the most insightful perception about my work that I have ever received.
