Dedicated Chicago Cubs winning the 2016 World Series. Dedicated to all the fans that love The Chicago Cubs. Dedicated to al the fans that couldn't be here. This is one of the feel good stories of 2016 The Chicago Cubs play baseball in and on Wrigley Field in Chicago Illinois. One of the Meccas in sports history, It's made of steel, concrete, neon lights and brick. And on that brick the fans have written messages to the players, their families and especially to the fans who couldn't be here. Special messages that I recreated with this mixed media piece that actually looks identical to the real thing. The Chicago Cubs haven't won the baseball championship, The World Series since 1908. That's literally 108 years. The longest championship drought of any professional sports team, in the entire world! So everyone knows about them. They transcend sports. It's about love. It's about never giving up. Eddie Vedder wrote and sang a now famous song from 2014, where he says "Someday We'll go all the way" Well Someday finally came. This piece is dedicated especially to my Grandfather Daniel J Sarantakis, who taught me the game and to love the Cubbies. This one's for you!!! And to all the fans who couldn't be here... This piece is done on a canvas and with plaster applied in the form of bricks. It is also sprayed heavily with a protective coating to maintain the 3-D effect. Original and Unique art by Nicholas Conlon
