I live in Moldova. It is a small beautiful country on the border with Europe. The nature in Moldova is beautiful, especially in the summer. In early July, the fields in Moldova turn yellow. The sunflower season is short-lived and people try to capture it in full swing. Traveling around the country, you constantly come across huge, endless fields of sunflowers. These flowers put you in a good mood because they look like the sun and they always turn to follow the sun. Science explains this phenomenon as follows: what makes sunflowers constantly follow the sun, turning from east to west, is the circadian rhythm, an internal biological clock synchronized with the natural cycle of day and night. When the flowers are young, this clock stimulates their growth. When they become mature, the sunflowers stop following the sun from east to west and look only to the east. The circadian rhythm also works when the flower is already ripe: growth slows down and the plant stops moving during the day, looking only to the east.
