A glass of autumn, please Painting

Burgundy red has been the hottest autumn fashion color already for three years. So if you want to be extra fashionable this season, pour yourself a glass of red, and fashion sense will be pulsing through your body. I actually painted this twice - first I thought painting something in burgundy autumn colours would be easy, so I didn't do my usual colour testing. Big mistake! The colours didn't come out in hues of burgundy, but in splotches of blood red. What a disaster. I started over, did my colour testing and I learned that the right colour comes from starting with dark brown as a base and then adding -- wait for it -- purple. Who would have thought that!
