ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This is the pond at The Conquering Hero pub at Crown Point near Crystal Palace in South London. The pond has apparently been abandoned. It is polluted with beer cans, plastic bottles, and bags. Nearing dusk it takes on a lonely beauty as rubbish drifts to the banks on the edge of the pond leaving the water in the middle clear to reflect the sky and throw the surrounding greenery into silhouette.
