About The Artwork

My paintings map my inner world. The content is drawn from incidents in my personal life and my reactions to contemporary world events. My goal is to create "nowhere" spaces with an absence of horizon lines and populated by what Carl Jung referred to as archetypal imagery such as ladders, rocks, flying objects, and snakes. My process seeks to open the locked door of the unconscious through methods suggested by Surrealism. As I work, I frequently rotate the canvas in order to disorient the view, helping new directions emerge and facilitating my stream of consciousness approach. Color is used to reconstruct different moods and to connect fragmentary, cryptic narratives. The mark varies from heavy and textural to a light touch befitting the atmosphere of the piece. I want to engage by slipping away, leaving gaps for viewers to fill in as a springboard for their own imaginations. This calming, meditative scene of floating rocks and ambiguous loops hover in a "nowhere place." Pale greens and light yellows create a sensation of water or air.

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

I maintain a studio in an artist colony in Los Angeles, California. Much of my recent work reflects on contemporary society and the political upheaval currently featured on the news. My interpretations are combined with my unconscious and become self-portraits of sorts- of a dark and quirky inner life. No one meaning predominates, only states of ambiguity, where strong undercurrents of emotion combine with murky, dream-like scenes of danger and destruction and contribute to a disjointed sense of unease in an unpredictable world.
