The vibration of life and its poetry are central elements in my paintings. I paint abstract with focus on the tangible texture of the paint, with complex layers in contrast to pure colors as well as slow transitions between different states, which can be experienced both physically and emotionally as the eye moves across the painting. I often associate a short text with my paintings and my music. The words cannot express what happens in the painting and there will always be a substantial difference between the painting and the music, but they can complement each other and hopefully strike a common chord, enhanting the inner vibration in each other. I'm deeply inspired by the abstract art community COBRA which existed in Denmark from 1948-51 and by the American expressive art of Jackson Pollock etc. I use a scraping technique developed by Gerhard Richter, making paintings where the viewer can look through several layers of paint, seeing multiple processes and events in time, frozen in that exact moment where the painting was created.
