Paul Chang was born in Paramaribo, Suriname. Due to political turmoil in his country he emigrated in 1986 to the United States and has been living and working since in Ft. Lauderdale Florida He takes his inspiration from everything happening around him in nature and he tries to make a connection with what he sees and experiences. His painting process is from start to finish an emotional journey, it is not a pre calculated action, which results in unexpected and startling artworks. His art illuminates, soothes, and vitalizes the human spirit. Paul has traveled the world extensively, which is the base for his inspiration and creativity. He has exhibited his artworks in Europe, America, Caribbean, South America and Asia; recently being selected to participate in the 8th and 9th Biennale of Beijing. He has won many awards including First prize at the Society of the Four Arts in West Palm Beach Florida in 2002. His works are in many private and corporate collections around the world.
